ABSTRACT

This paper interprets the content and recommendations of the guidelines on infection prevention and control in long-term care facilities put forward by the World Health Organization (WHO) during the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, and actively explores the key points of nursing and infection prevention and control measures for the long-term care facilities under the background of repeated outbreaks, with the aim of providing care measures and infection prevention and control measures that suit our national conditions to improve the living standards of the elderly and protect them from viral infection amid the recurring pandemic.

ABSTRACT

Objective:Analysis of the antibiotic resistance profiles and molecular typing of Salmonella typhimurium ( S. typhimurium) isolated in Wuxi city from 2011 to 2018. Methods:A total of 109 S. typhimurium isolates were detected from different types monitoring samples in Wuxi city from 2011 to 2018. Microbroth dilution method was used to test antimicrobial susceptibility of S. typhimurium for 17 antimicrobial agents. Pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was used to conduct molecular typing. Statistical analysis was carried out using Chi-square test. Results:Tetracycline-resistance and ampicillin-resistance were most frequency in 109 S. typhimurium isolates, 69.72% (76/109) and 68.81% (75/109), respectively. For compound sulfamethoxazole, chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, ampicillin/sulbactam, azithromycin, nitrofurantoin, cefotaxime and aztreonam, the resistance rates were 23.85%(26/109), 22.02%(24/109), 11.93%(13/109), 4.59%(5/109), 3.67%(4/109), 3.67%(4/109), 0.92%(1/109), 0.92%(1/109), respectively. All isolates were susceptible to amikacin, ertapenem, imipenem, meropenem, ceftazidime and ceftazidime-avibactam. Azithromycin-resistance isolates were decreasing year by year gradually. The aztreonam and cefotaxime-resistant isolates were found since 2018, while chloramphenicol and compound sulfa-resistant isolates showed upward trend simultaneously. Conclusions:S. typhimurium in Wuxi city exhibited highly resistant to tetracycline and ampicillin. The significant variability existed between genotype and phenotype of S. typhimurium.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of crayfish associated rhabdomyolysis syndrome in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, and explore the related factors, and to provide evidence for the prevention of crayfish rhabdomyolysis syndrome. Methods The cases of crawfish associated rhabdomyolysis syndrome were found through the foodborne disease surveillance and reporting system, and a field epidemiological investigation was carried out to analyze the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the cases. Results A total of 25 cases of crayfish associated rhabdomyolysis syndrome occurred in 2020. The intake of crayfish of the cases ranged from 5 to 25, the incubation period was 1 to 9.5h, and the interval from onset to medical treatment was 0.17 to 9h. All the cases had muscle pain, and the content of creatine kinase (CK) in the cases increased to varying degrees (128-17851 U/L). Retrospective cohort analysis of 10 crayfish events found no correlation between the consumption of different parts of crayfish and the incidence of crayfish-related rhabdomyolysis syndrome. Conclusion The incidence of rhabdomyolysis syndrome reported in Baiyun District of Guangzhou is related to the consumption of crayfish, but the pathogenic factors need to be further studied. It is suggested to strengthen the supervision of crayfish breeding, transportation, sales, and processing to ensure the health of consumers.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe and evaluate the effect of glycolic acid peels in the treatment of acne and scars, and to approach the indications, process and security. Methods 34 patients with acne were chosen.Glycolic acid of 20 %,35 %,50 %,and 70 % concentration was used for chemical peeling therapy for 5 times. The concentration of glycolic acid was increased every three weeks. The efficacy was evaluated by comparison of the lesion counts before and after the course.Patients were assigned to fulfil the questionnaire to assess the follicular orifice, secretion of sebaceous glands, smooths, whiteness, scar, influence to living and satisfaction. Results 34 patients completed the course.4 patients were cured,15 patients were greatly improved,12 patients were improved, and 3 patients had no effectiveness. The efficacy rate was 91.18 %.After treatment,73.53 % of the patients showed improvement in follicular orifice,55.88 % of the patients showed that secretion of sebaceous glands was decreased,82.35 % of the patients had improvement in smoothness,61.77 % of the patients had improvement in whiteness, and 67.65 % of the patients had decrease in scar formation. Conclusions Glycolic acid peeling is proved an effective, well accepted, and safe treatment for mild to moderate acne. The follicular orifice, secretion of sebaceous glands, skin smoothness, whiteness and scars could be also improved after treatment.
